What is God seeking in and from people?

That we love God and learn Christ (Mk. 12:30, Eph. 4:20), that we demonstrate His character in all things (I Tim 4:12-16), that we obey Him (Jn. 14:21), that we follow Him into mission (Mt. 4:19, 28:19-20)

What are we preparing youth for?

To become mature Christian adults - not just ‘good Christian teens'

To impact their world now in and for Jesus Christ: their home, friends, school, work place and the community in general

And to be equipped to be a vital part of kingdom growth in decades to come

How do Christians grow?

God makes the kingdom grow in people (Mk. 4:26-29) through ‘DNA' :

- Divine truth (ie. Josh. 1:8, I Tim 3:16-17)
- Nurturing relationships (eg Ga. 6:2,10, Moses with Joshua, Elijah
with Elisha, Jesus with the Twelve)
- Apostolic mission (eg. Mt. 28:19-20, Acts 1:8, Acts 6-8)

And so in all aspects of the ministry, we will cultivate these three elements, seeking the presence of DNA in every youth's life.

Our vision: Captured hearts

We see a day coming when youth are in love with Jesus, devoted to God, transformed and empowered by His Spirit. (Mk. 12:30-31)  This love will show fruit (ie. Ga. 5 fruit, Jn. 15 fruit). Maturity shows itself in lives with shifting priorities (toward Christ) and compassionate living toward peers, and toward all people. This especially ‘shows up' in how we see and act toward marginalized people. (eg Mt. 9:35-38, Lk. 4:14-30)

We see youth being equipped, keen to know God's plan for them. They will choose their vocations, their mates (if marriage is His plan for them), how to parent, where to live ... based in their relationship with Jesus.

We also see youth being 'adopted' by the whole family of Christ at ZMC - youth who are integrally a part of the church - loved and equipped by the whole body.

Our mission

We are the mission [!]. We are a missional people. [See Being a SENT people]

‘Missional' means, being on-mission with God wherever we live, share a fence, eat lunch, study geography, play soccer, BBQ a steak, teach a lesson, turn a wrench, milk a cow ... Being a missional youth ministry means living the 4 "around here" statements of ZMC.

Our Activities

• Weekly Bible Study
• 2 or 3 other events each monthy, usually on the weekend. See the calendar for upcoming events (look for "MYF]
