Kingsfield Mission
We are a multiplying movement of churches who bring the kingdom of Jesus Christ to relevant reality where we live and everywhere we go .. in Bluewater, Central Huron, South Huron, Goderich, Lambton Shores and beyond.
HOW? What will the life we envision look like as it is lived?
(our mission & values)
We are a movement of church-planting churches that exists for the world the Lord Jesus Christ came to save. We are disciples who know our part in His global and local body, who are cared for by His servant leaders, who make sure that no one gets left behind. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we will serve His purposes in multiplying the Church to the glory of God.
As we grow this understanding, let's use a couple of pictures from the plant world to explain:
Think of aspen trees. Aspen groves develop by means of ramets, such that a whole hillside of aspens can be actually one organism.
Similarly, we envision that as life in Christ emerges in one place, we will allow life to spread organically, perhaps unseen for a time, and anticipate new visible life to appear in another place. Each new community of Christ followers will be connected to the others.
Another image for this movement is the familiar periwinkle
plant, which grows as groundcover in many Ontario gardens. Interestingly, for Ukrainians this robust plant with pretty purple flowers symbolizes eternity. Periwinkle, as gardeners who know this flourishing herb can testify, spreads widely and is difficult to remove or tame once planted. What a fitting picture of the Church! Eternal. Beautiful. Hardy. Unstoppable.
In further explaining how we will see the vision realized, let us ask, "What is important to us?" Who we are absolutely determines how we will see the church be and do who and what God intends.
Jesus
Jesus is Lord. We are a people who know and worship Jesus. The gospel of Jesus Christ is our beginning and everything. It is our way to life. It determines who we are and all we do proceeds from who we are because of the gospel. Who Jesus is and our relationship with Him is central to and before all of our visioning, strategizing and so on. (Mk. 12:30, Rev. 1:9-18)
Simply put, we are a movement of churches who say:
- that no one gets left behind,
- that leaders demonstrate care for people (me) by leading the whole body (us),
- that every disciple knows that he/she is a disciple of Jesus Christ and every disciple contributes to His kingdom,
- and that we exist for the world the Lord came to save
*(see Acts 6-8 as a demonstration of these realities in the early church)
May God grow His church!
