“ It's not fair !”
It's a phrase we hear frequently from young people, but also from the not so young.  In some cases, from our human perspective, it is true.  Some stuff just doesn't seem fair!
Too often our cry of “It's not fair” is about some petty issues, but then there are deeper issues that we question too.

How fair is it when a young woman dies from breast cancer, and leaves a family that needs caring for?  It doesn't seem fair to the family, however in the eternal realm,  if she professed Jesus as Savior, then she was saved from a lot of pain and will live forever where there is no pain.  Our human eyes have a hard time seeing that.

How fair is it that we in North America rarely go days without food, unless by choice?  We don't have to walk miles each day to carry fresh water back to our homes.  Is that fair that a large percentage of the world's population lives in those situations ?

Does it seem fair that God would ask Abraham to take his only son up to a mountain altar and sacrifice his life?   Wait a minute, that story sounds familiar – from John 3:16 “This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son.” (The Message)  Is it really 'fair' that God would sacrifice his only Son so that we that we could have forgiveness for our own sins?  Jesus was without sin, yet he died a cruel death so that we could have eternal life after our human death.

How do we humans decide what's fair? Or maybe that's the problem.....we are not to be the judge.
God alone holds that position.
